New Animations and Interface
The all-new MIUI 12 has smooth transitions and animations for switching apps and checking notifications. While it seems like it has copied these transitions from Apple, it’s appreciated for making it almost perfect. Further, it now supports multi-window too, which helps to stream YouTube videos within any app while multitasking.
More Privacy Settings
MIUI 12 has three privacy options like Flare, Barbed Wire, and Mask System. These are the levels of which you can grant access to your apps, where they’d be collecting data. Like in Flare, the OS keeps a log of all permissions to limit apps to specified access, whereas the other two goes slightly flexible, yet as per your decisions.
A dedicated Fitness app
It has a dedicated app for tracking your running, walking, cycling, and even stair climbing! It even tracks your sleep like REM and snoring times to check how healthy you are. Alongside, it has an Always-on-display, magic clone apps, system-wide dark mode, reading more with E-ink display texture, a dedicated MIUI sound assistant and a universal casting tool to let you cast the content to any device. Xiaomi could be launching this update in a phased manner, as;

The maker has announced to make a dedicated MIUI after the Indian government banned some of its native apps over security reasons. As per it, the new MIUI 12 should not be having the banned apps, to be useable for Indian users. And if you’re unable to wait for the update, install some of the MIUI 12 best live wallpapers it supports meanwhile.
