Since the beginning of this year, all Windows cumulative updates released monthly are daunting to Microsoft. Almost every update had more bugs rather than intended patches. Though this heated the community, Microsoft just rolled out the May’s Update for gaining the lost trust. This one’s having a lot of improvements besides cleaning up bugs.

Microsoft Edge Browser
It’s now passed to all Windows users who update the system to the latest version. This will be made default and seems okay. Microsoft said the new Chromium-based Edge Browser will use 27% less RAM than previous versions, sweetening the Chrome users to migrate.

GPU Temperatures in Task Manager
The Task Manager will now display the temperature status of all available GPUs on the system.
Windows Hello Login
Now you can log in to all of your Microsoft accounts without passwords. You can try Windows Hello Biometric authentication or PIN to pass through, safely.
Text-based Cortana
You can now command or respond to Cortana by text chat, alongside voice commands.
Wi-Fi 6 and WPA3
The latest update will support Wi-Fi 6, the latest version of wireless connection. This shows enhanced speed if your system is compatible. Further, it also gets WPA3 encryption for safer wireless communications. This update has also improved the Swift Pair in Bluetooth. There are more like Disk Controls, more options in Phone App, Subsystem for Linux 2 (WSL2) etc to try out.
How to Download?
Upgrading from the build 1909 (or similar versions) to Windows 10 2004 version is optional for now, and Microsoft may soon push this to all gradually in the future. Follow the below steps to upgrade to the new version; You’ll be shown the latest update available for download. Click Yes/Ok to proceed with the installation.
