This new pack includes three tiers – Essential, Extra, and Premium. The company detailed the benefits and pricing of this combined subscription, and it’d start from June onwards. All the current PlayStation Now customers will be migrated to the premium tier eventually.
Sony’s New PlayStation Plus Subscription
Sony has just announced a new revamped PlayStation Plus subscription, merging it with another similar service called PlayStation Now. The company aims to make it easy for the community and put it in direct competition with Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass.

PlayStation Plus Essential This is just the current regular PS Plus pack, which contains exclusive discounts, cloud storage for saved games, online multiplayer access, and up to two monthly downloadable games. This subscription is priced at $9.99 per month, $24.99 quarterly, or $59.99 yearly. PlayStation Plus Extra It contains all the benefits of PlayStation Plus Essential, plus a selection of up to 400 PS4 and PS5 games. This tier costs $14.99 monthly, $39.99 quarterly, or $99.99 yearly. PlayStation Plus Premium This pack contains all the perks of Essential and Extra, and also up to 340 games including PS3 titles which you can stream via the cloud. This tier users also have access to all the classic games available in both streaming and download options, including original PlayStation, PS2, and PSP games.
It costs $17.99 monthly, $49.99 quarterly, or $119.99 yearly. And for good, Sony will let Premium users try select games before buying them in a time-limited trial manner. This new subscription service will start in June this year, and be available in Asia before expanding to North America, Europe, and other areas. At the time of launch, Sony will offer games like “Death Stranding,” “God of War,” “Marvel’s Spider-Man,” “Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales,” “Mortal Kombat 11” etc to appeal to users.
