Starting with OnePlus 8, the handset is about 6.55″ FHD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate. Further, it’s claimed to be possessing a punch-hole AMOLED display style. This is even shared by the Pro version of this series, except the fact that it upgrades to 6.78″ QHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate. Both the phones will be sharing the same chipset beneath as Snapdragon 865, which by default has an X50 modem for supporting 5G! This special functionality could drive the price up for this new series. With respect to memory, the OnePlus 8 Pro may have 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM with 128GB or 256GB onboard storage. On the there hand, the general OnePlus 8 may have up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM. Coming to imaging department, the Pro version may have a quad rear camera setup of 48MP + 48MP + 8MP + 5MP and the general one with triple as 48MP + 16MP + 2MP cameras. While both share the front camera alike as 16MP, apertures, pixel rates, and others were unclear yet. The high-end of this flagship may be IP68 rated, thus resistant for water splashes, dust, and dirt. But the general variant may not have this certification, or we say we don’t know yet. Finally, the OnePlus 8 Pro has 4,510mAh battery with 30W Wrap charge, 30W Wireless Charging, and a 3W reverse wireless charging. The general OnePlus 8 may come with a 4,500mAh battery with the same 30W Wrap charge but no wireless powering. The Chinese manufacturer decided to officially announce this series on April 15th this year, but as we’re seeing, novel Coronavirus may push this event too.
