This can be tried on select latest phones using an Android emulator, with Google promising to add more features to this feature later on. Alongside, Google has also released the 64-bit factory images of Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 4, and Pixel 4a.
Android Privacy Sandbox DP2
Just a couple of months ago, Google announced the first developer preview of its new Android Privacy Sandbox – a new way that reduces core tracking of user interests but also lets advertisers have enough data to do their ad business. And now, Google is rolling out the second developer preview of Android Privacy Sandbox, which has a new feature called the MeasurementManager to attribute and report APIs. While it’s still in the early preview stage, Google explained in its reference notes as;
You can call registerSource() and registerTrigger() to register app ad events and receive event-level reporting data for app-to-app attribution. Our current implementation uses last-touch attribution. Reports are scheduled to be sent out as defined by the reporting windows. Refer to the MeasurementManager API reference for more information. The actual report upload happens at the end of fixed intervals of time rather than at the exact scheduled time. The reporting upload interval is 4 hours by default but can be overridden with the following adb command: adb shell device_config put adservices measurement_main_reporting_job_period_ms
Google promised to more like the aggregate reporting, post-install attribution, and redirects to the MeasurementManager API. Interested developers can try this through an Android Emulator. Further, Google released the 64-bit factory images (ISO files) of Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 4, and Pixel 4a. Google intends to run the Android Privacy Sandbox Preview program throughout this year, with a stable beta planned at the end of this cycle.
