These include OLED panels for display, usage of M1X chip, and most importantly, ditching the Touch Bar. These may be welcomed by the users, as they demand functional keys and better performance.
MacBook Pro 2021 Leaks
Alongside the anticipated iPhone 13 series, we expect Apple to unveil the new MacBook Pro lineup this year in September. And when it does, we hope it comes without the Touch Bar – which most users are reluctant to use. Apple Touch Bar in MacBook Pro was introduced in 2016, and since then, it wasn’t much of a hit. Though it unlocks a wealth of opportunities like stuffing numerous options for quick access – changing according to the app, it wasn’t liked. Thus, Apple could ditch this thin line of the screen that responds with gestures like tapping, swiping, and sliding in its new MacBook Pro line-up – according to Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC). The DSCC said it’s worth removing the Touch Bar, as complaints from users are growing since its launch, and most are accustomed to using the physical function keys instead. While it’s touted to be removed for good, another leak from WCCFtech says the upcoming MacBook Pro will equip the M1X chipset. This new chip is made over TSMC’s N5P process and has the same architecture as the M1 chip. Further, the M1X is expected to have 10 CPU cores (2 efficient and 8 high-performing) and a 4-core GPU. Leaks also say that the new Mac mini shall have this M1X chip too. While it’s good that Apple is refreshing the new lineup with a powerful chip, the MacBook Air is expected to come with an M2 chip, which is slightly less powerful than M1X. We shall know more about it when launched.
