Snapdragon 855 Plus vs Snapdragon 855: What’s different?
Qualcomm has marketed Snapdragon 855 Plus as a game-centric chipset. The launch presentation talked at length about the Snapdragon elite gaming features, but that’s something you’d find on both Snapdragon 855 and Snapdragon 855 Plus. But yes, the gaming claims aren’t completely unfounded. The Adreno 640 GPU gets a significant 15% boost as the clock frequency jumps from 585MHz to 672Mhz. Also, the frequency of the single Prime core has been increased from 2.84 to 2.96Hz, which should help improve the performance of single-threaded workloads. It remains to be seen if these changes translate to a meaningful difference in real-world usage, but the Plus moniker surely gives OEMs a marketing advantage they aren’t willing to forgo. So, here’s a list of Snapdragon 855 phones that are already official or are in the pipeline. Also Read: Best Snapdragon 730G and Snapdragon 730 Phones To Buy
